The Gymnasium.

It has been quite a time since I last post a blog. There are too many coursework and homework that had to be completed and handed at the moment, which is obviously far more important.

Not to forget, there are a lot of tests going on for the next few weeks. At first, I didn’t know that the life as a university student was so hectic. Then, my lecturer said, what can you expect from a full-time student, other than studying all the time? Such a statement that made me ponders about.

Anyway, with that busy life of mine, I still had the chance to hit the gym three times a week, which is on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

I'm sexy and I know it~

Basically, this post is all about the place where I always hang out in the afternoon or evening, lifting some weights and have a nice relaxing steam bath. It is the Virgin Active Health Club in Holloway Road!

The gym!
Alright, where should I start?

Hmm...They have few good looking women at the counter!

Ok, that's a joke!

Generally, the gymnasium has a lot of facilities which I have never encounter before in Malaysia as I am here. The facilities such as cafe, male and female changing room, steam bath, sauna and computer stations with free Wi-Fi access are the club extras bits that made the gymnasium feel so complete to me.

Wide area of gym floor and a lot of equipment such as weights and machines made the gym less crowded and your workout can go on smoothly without any minor delays, even during the peak hours. Sometimes, it is quite crowded but not as crowded as the university club.

The main thing that I want to stress to you about is the steam bath facility. The steam bath room is a hot room where humidifying steam generator produces water vapours, creating a high humidity environment and large amounts of high temperature steam. Sounds good isn't it? I am not very sure about the benefit of steam bath but it does make me feel warm in this cold-weather country.

As to end my post, I would like to mention the quote who gave me motivation and spirit to go to gym when I am lazy to do so.

“Working out not just to make you look good, but to make others look bad.

Not to forget, below are some pictures taken by me, furtively. Keep it low yeah~

The gym has become my new playground! When it will be yours?

Drinks anyone?

The title might be a bit misleading as I wanted a 'catchy' title name. I am not a drinker and I am happy with it. This post was all about my favourite drinks which I would like to share to all of you.

For your information, the following orders were random and not based on ranking.

No 1: Dark Mocha Frappuccino, Starbucks.

Very nice yeah!
A decadently rich blend of creamy milk and the finest arabica coffee swirled together with delicious dark chocolate mocha flavors. Adding white cream and some chocolate chip enhance the original taste. Very smooth blended and taste delicious. Some caffeine contained in it will make the drinker stay awake and thus, suitable for students who feel sleepy during lectures or classes. Nice splendid drink for a hot weather day. Although the cost of such drink was a little bit expensive, it was worth buying.

No 2: Teh Pudina aka Peppermint Tea.
Awesomeness~
An awesome taste of hot tea with some fresh peppermint leaves which makes you look younger and hotter. I am not lying. Some of the benefits of peppermint leaves were it helps preserve your skin, reduce your stress and even helps to cure cough and fever. Peppermint leaves was one type of herbs and it smells scent. With the sweet taste of tea and sweet aroma of peppermint leaves, such drink was best served during tea time, together with the loved ones. My mom was the one who introduced me to such drink. Thank you mom and I love you so much!

No 3: Espresso, Costa Coffee.
Strong stuff!
Dark coffee with no milk and no compromises. One of the drinks which gave your taste buds a wake up call with its intense and strong taste. This Espresso may look small in stature but, a sip will gave you an almighty punch on our taste buds. Very nice to drink when you feel sleepy during lectures or classes.

Alright, that's all for now. I will write more about my favourite drinks in my next post and I may as well write a new post about my favourite foods.

So, what should you do?

Try all of the drinks recommended above and..

Stay tuned!

P/s: Don't I look like those models in the advertisements for drinks? :P

What are you waiting for? Go check it out~

Bantal Busuk!

I have been warned by my mom that, the following was private and confidential information to share. Perhaps, my friends will make fun of me with such information.

For me, this is interesting yet embarrassing information to share.

So, enjoy it while you can!

Bantal Busuk or Smelly Pillow (direct translation) is a pillow which gave comfort and act as a valuable companion that holds thousands of secrets of its owner.

It is called Bantal Busuk due to its unpleasant odour to others. But, to its owner, the odour is rather sweet-scent like roses. Based on my experience, Bantal Busuk produced such odour because it was exposed to saliva of its owner when s/he was asleep. From here we can say that, the odour was relatively normal to its owner as it was his/her saliva smell. Whereas, it was such an unpleasant odour for others and in a way, it can be best described as smelling someone else saliva?! Yucks~

My Bantal Busuk~
If I not mistaken, my Bantal Busuk came into my life since I was three years old. It was actually originated from one of the small pillow that came along from the purchase of couches. I have no idea of how that small pillow became my Bantal Busuk. My Bantal Busuk case has been replaced so many times as soon as its colours turned darker, in such way that it looked so disgusting to others. As you can see, the recent case was the picture of Barney with orange-colour background. Before this, it was in green-colour background with some pictures of Tom and Jerry.

So childish isn't it? Not my fault.

For your information, my mom was the one who chose those cute looking cartoons and sewed it on top of my old case. She always sewed it when I am not around. When I came back, my Bantal Busuk was already sewed with new case. Thus, I can't do anything about it. I love you mom!

My Bantal Busuk holds thousands of secrets as it is always with me during the hard and easy time. I used to punch it on its tummy as a means to reduce some of my stress and even used it to higher my bed pillow, so that I won't hurt my neck the next morning I woke up.

Normally, I used it as a hugging pillow and sometimes I smelled it as to avoid unwanted odour. For example, when my mom sprayed some mosquito repellent in my room which the smell weren't very pleasant, I quickly took my Bantal Busuk (if it is within reach) and smell it with such passion.

Moreover, I even smelled my Bantal Busuk while playing games!

What will happen to my Bantal Busuk when I am married?

There were lots of answers playing in my mind at the moment. One of it would be that, the fate of my Bantal Busuk depends on my future wife decision, to be dispose or not. Besides that, I would like to remember my past experience with my Bantal Busuk by taking off its case, which holds thousands of memories in it. I might also consider placing it in a frame and decorating my future bedroom with it (if my future wife insists of disposing my valuable Bantal Busuk).

Just to mention, my Bantal Busuk was here, with me, in London. How wonderful! :)

Do get one Bantal Busuk for you now! While stocks last!

Off to bed with my Bantal Busuk!

Ice Skating~

A fortnight ago, my friends and I went to Queens Ice Rink, London, for ice skating activities. It was my second time as I have once before skated in Sunway Pyramid Ice, Malaysia, and it was an unforgettable experience that left scars deep down in my heart.

At first I was reluctant to go for ice skating because of my past experience with it, which I will explain more later on. To be honest, my past experience was not the major factor I was reluctant to go for skating, but, it was merely because I was playing online game at that moment and I was lazy to go out on a cloudy Sunday morning! I am sure most of us spent their Sunday morning by sleeping under a warm cozy duvet with their heater turned on, right? Maybe not. Forget about it.

Back to the story, after being persuaded by one of my friend who agreed to pay for the entrance fee and rent for the skate, I have finally agreed and followed all of them to the ice skating place. His determination and kindness have somehow melted my heart and I was affected by it. Such a wonderful friend to have and hopefully, I could repay your kindness in the future. InsyaAllah. Thank you brother!

A friend in need is a friend indeed~
The ice rink has state of the art colour change lighting with special effect light shows. There were so many people skating including children below the age of seven, which I found very rare to see if it were to be in Malaysia. These children used a 'penguin' which act as a balance aid and reduces the risk of falling. No wonder they were very good at skating when they were at my age, as they learnt how to skate since they were young!

Cute Penguins!
In contrast, I started skating at the age of nineteen, and it was an unforgettable and embarrassing experience. As it was my first time skating, the amount of falling was so much that it was countless. It was so tragic that I fall for seven times, repeatedly. As soon as I stood up, I fall again. Not even a step, I fall again. I kept falling after falling. Even my jeans became wet due to so many falls.

It seems to be true for a newbie who are new to skating, doesn't it? Yes, it is true. However, I couldn't accept the fact that I can't even skate while others can. Such feeling demotivated me and I felt that I should never do this kind of sport ever again. One time is enough. But, that is not the truly type of person I am. I couldn't give up easily without trying very hard and I hate it when I lost to someone.

Such experiences hunted me when I am going to skate for the second time, here in London. There was one thought that came to my mind that afternoon, which was to rent a 'penguin' which the children used as their balance aid. By doing so, I would not fall down and embarrassed my self again, like last time. However, dignity and ego swept those thoughts away. With brave and confidence, I skate all the way through the crowded people on the ice rink. Unfortunately, without any knowledge on skating, I fall and wet my pants. History repeats itself.

I saw my friends have a wonderful time together and had so much fun skating. Deep in my heart, I want to have a perfect life like them. From that moment onwards, I knew that I should learn how to skate if I don't want to be a loser who wet his pants again. I stood up and continue to skate.

After a few hours of learning how to skate from my friends, I have finally mastered the basics to skating. Moreover, I have managed to even lift one of my legs while skating. I was so happy and proud. Finally, I could skate like other people! Yay! :)

One leg yeah~ :)
Life has thought me to never give up. Keep on trying and you will achieve what you have worked for. I know it was hard. But, when you were used to it, it felt easier.

The past should be left in the past, otherwise it can destroy your future. Live life for what tomorrow has to offer, not for what yesterday has taken away.

Skate and fall with style~
